最小限度的(一段路)
Bare Minimum (A Walk)
Multi-channel video installation, Nine-channel HD video converted from MiniDV, 66', 2023 - present
The artist invites his friends to walk a path of their choice across an area they are familiar with. The subject leads the way; the twists and turns they take can either be as precise as dictated by memory or as spontaneous as chance is. And the camera follows. Within a MiniDV tape's approximately one-hour timeframe, the subject walks nonstop from dusk to nightfall.
Bare Minimum (A Walk) is an attempt to trace a memory path, to preserve all the small actions taken without external interference, and to delve into the slight tension between an individual's situation and the landscape in which they find themselves. By placing a fictional gaze at the future, it looks back at a history that has become a documentation: How do our future selves speak of the present that is already our past? When the "unspeakable" erupts first, before speaking, people remain silent, turning their back and keeping walking — there’s a kind of anonymity and silence immersed in the monotonic movement of walking and the unvaried perspective of the camera. It's you, and it's me — The length between the camera and the subject reflects both trust and distance, suggesting an ambivalence between following and walking together
